A quick video on Loopthing, the business networking website, where Joseph Kelly talks about what is Loopthing and how it can help your business.

The action happens in The Hub, in London, from what I’ve heard.

I am excited to announce that the Loopthing social networking platform got an important update today, which mainly has something to do with professionals from the online environment providing consultancy services for SEO, SEM, online marketing and PR.

This major update is part of a long plan that Loopthing has ahead, and enables account managers to manage other businesses’ profiles on the Loopthing business network.

How this can be applied to your SEO, SEM, online marketing, PR consultancy/web development business?

Now you can pitch your customers about a new set of services you added to your business:

• submitting their business to Loopthing
• maintain this profile, where you both have control over the shared content

The reason why this should be included into your business plan is because your company doesn’t need to pay anything to get started, while you can charge your customers the activity you put into developing their Loopthing profile.

Building a profile on Loopthing is simple, the staff is helpful and there’s tips on the way while you use the site. Once you do it for a business, it will be very easy to do it for the other ones inside your portfolio.

Plus, this comes with no obligation from your customers, and they can take control over their accounts whenever they want.

This feature is very useful for some of your customers (probably all) who want to expose more of their brand online, and get seen all over the Internet. Loopthing is there to provide you with the ability to set up and manage profiles for other businesses, while they are still in control.

How can this help my SEO company?

Loopthing has a feature called “websites urls” which displays up to three urls on your customers business’ profile. These links are nofollow free, and you can link to the home page of the company that hired you or/and their blog.

There’s also a feature called “news feeds” where business owners can submit their blog/RSS feed as a news source, or even their Loopthing profile. This is very helpful because the “news feeds” page connects the Loopthing visitors with these pages as well.

There are also SEO related elements that we are currently working on which are going to enhance the effects of sharing your company’s information with the Loopthing visitors.

Why is so important for my customers to be on Loopthing?

Loopthing is a business networking platform which integrates elements of social networking, social media, branding and online marketing.

This summer is being a blessing for Loopthing, the business networking platform. We just finished integrating the Twitter functionality for business profiles, and there’s few more other features integrated as well.

Besides the Twitter integration, we also added RSS feeds news feeds reader which also adds content to the profile page of any company joining Loopthing.

Two more other features were also integrated into the networking functionality of the site. The networks members can now upload media files (audios, videos and images), and they can also store files into the repository of each network.

I’m going to keep you posted on updates related to Loopthing, but for now, this is it! Here’s the official blog post announcing the Twitter integration feature.

Party time for 14.7 seconds

Good news for the social media community out there. Loopthing will integrate Twitter in the following days and this was a feature which we kind of pushed and prioritized it into the plan.

This is because social media is the most important aspect of promoting a business online nowadays, and here it is. It will take few days until it’s complete, but it will be there. The good news is confirmed by a blog entry posted on the official blog of Loopthing.

Basically businesses will have their tweets flow available on their profile, and as an extension to this, I can tell you there’s more stuff to help businesses promote themselves coming soon.

Are you into promoting your business online? Then it’s time for some good news: a new group was launched recently on Facebook exclusively created for business networking.

I started this group with one thing in mind, to enable businesses and self-employed people to network. The group web address is:

If you are an individual, you are also welcome and I believe there is no limit on how much this group should grow. There will be some events added there as well, so my advice is to become a fan and stay tuned for some more.

The online publication IrishDev published recently an interview with Loopthing’s CEO, Joseph Kelly, on the upcoming plans.

The website is the home of the Irish Software Developers Network which also organises offline events and all sorts of activities targeting developers in Ireland.

Fingers crossed on seeing some more coverage of Loopthing.

Australia’s effort to promote tourism transformed in a huge viral campaign for Whitsunday Islands which quickly made the world tour and then some. The contest involved becoming the caretaker around the well known Great Barrier Reef islands group.

The job listing was referring to a dynamic person, very much into traveling and experiencing new things.  I believe accommodating with new places was also a must.

Some of the required tasks to perform by the successful candidate included things like living in a three roomed villa, feeding the fish for 12 hours a month, mail collecting and pool cleaning (did you have many expectations from this $25.000/month job?)

The contract was set for 6 months, but I can’t imagine the amount of exposure this campaign got, which once again proves things can be done at a major scale just by using a smart idea.
