Loopthing - Business NetworkingNow it’s possible! You can browse all the individuals who joined Loopthing until this moment. The feature has been added later today at 19:00.

The feature has been requested a long time ago, and it was on the TODO list for a while. You’ll see more features coming soon. In case you haven’t joined Loopthing yet, I highly recommend you to become a member.

Hope I’ll see more people joining the site, not only businesses. This thing is growing slowly but surely so sooner you get on board, easier for you is to watch it grow.

Just been wondering lately if Odesk or RentACoder are still good places to find talented professionals and my conclusion is that none of are what RentACoder used to be four-five years ago. There is no enthusiasm about these sites from my side.

I’m still trying to figure out the reasons why this happens but obviously there’s a big shortage of affordable, talented developers where you can outsource programming.

I’ve been browsing some other new or already existing sites as well, and problem is the same however, I’ve found that recruiting developers through other medias produces better results.

So far I’ve been using mainly social networking sites to find talented people and this proved to be a big success.

If you’d ask me, I wouldn’t outsource via these sites anymore. In the future I hope that Loopthing will be a good source for talented people as well (thinking in progress here…), however my advice is to pay attention to the social networking sites: they do have talented people, and talented people are proud of their work and they’ll tag themselves using the right keywords so you’ll find them easier.

Let the social networks headhunting start now!

tweetdeckIf you find yourself wasting time on Twitter, I have one single word for you: TweetDeck.

I have been using TweetDeck for about two weeks now, and I think it really changes my way  of using twitter, and if I can say so, I’m more productive. This means, less time wasted on finding exactly what I want to read, and more time for things that I am focusing on at the moment.

Here’s few reasons why you should use tweetdeck:

  • it is faster than the site
  • real-time tweets
  • it let’s you know quickly if there’s any update related to your account, so you can quickly evade the tweet zone
  • it brings focus on what you want, everything is nicely rendered, you don’t waste time with unnecessary filtering
  • you are in control of the tweets you want to see thanks to the multi column data (replies to @vladimir_ghetau are so cool in their own column, same thing for my saved searches and direct messages – I feel like a DJ)
  • way faster navigation: replies, tweets, direct messages, shoter URLs… all this is all painless with TweetDeck
  • it’s for all the major operating systems: Win, linux, Mac
  • it’s free

All this tweet play thanks to TweetDeck takes now 10 minutes max a day, instead of 30 when I was using the web interface. I can’t look back for anything else.

Loopthing - Business NetworkingHere’s a press release I think it’s worth reading and it describes the strategy behind Loopthing on getting new members:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/prweb/20090519/bs_prweb/prweb2432714_1

In there you will find some extra information that you wouldn’t already know, such as members count estimations for the next to earnings, income genrated by the app, and few small things which you’ll have read yourself.
